Our corporate commitment to improve our business with diversity firms does not reside within the Supply Chain & Fleet Operations alone. Supplier Diversity Outreach Ambassadors are a team of employee volunteers from across AT&T who represent the company at trade fairs and outreach events. The Outreach Ambassadors are knowledgeable about AT&T's supplier diversity mission and share program information with customers, advocacy groups, business councils, etc.
AT&T sponsors many supplier diversity outreach events such as trade shows, award and recognition programs and workshops. All of these provide excellent forums for diversity suppliers and corporations to network and explore potential business opportunities. We also fund the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Clearinghouse, a certification agency that provides free-of-charge certifications to minority and women-owned businesses. See our Calendar of Events for upcoming opportunities to meet with AT&T employees.
A strong financial network of resources is also important to the development of healthy M/WBE-DVBE businesses. AT&T helped fill this need through our long-term support of the National Minority Supplier Development Council's Business Consortium Fund. AT&T was the first million dollar contributor to this program. It provides several financing alternatives for minority owned businesses.
